High-pressure roof cleaning looks dramatic but it strips the protective glaze from tiles and shortens roof life by years. We use a soft-wash treatment instead: a low-pressure, biocide-based solution that kills moss, lichen, and algae at the root, then gently rinses clean. The roof finishes lighter over the following weeks as dead growth weathers off naturally — no broken tiles, no warranty issues, and the regrowth cycle is reset for years.
Equipment we use on every job.
The process, step by step.
Roof + landscape walk
Identify moss/lichen severity, tile condition, broken or lifted tiles (flagged not treated), and the landscape plan around the eaves so we know what needs protection.
Plant pre-soak
Every plant in the runoff zone gets a fresh-water pre-soak. Pre-soaked foliage does not absorb the dilute treatment that runs off the gutter.
Soft-wash application
Even, low-pressure application across the full roof from the gutter line. Working sectional so coverage is consistent, no missed strips.
Rinse + final walk
Tiles, gutters, eaves, and landscape rinsed after the contact time. Final walk-around with you. Visual lightening continues over 4-8 weeks as dead growth weathers off.

What people ask before booking.
Why not just high-pressure clean it?
High-pressure strips the protective glaze from tiles, lifts edges, and forces water under tile overlaps where it can leak into the ceiling space. It looks dramatic but it shortens roof life. Soft-wash is what every Australian roofing manufacturer recommends.
How long until the roof looks fully clean?
Depends on growth severity. Light staining can look fully clean within 2 weeks. Heavy moss can take 6-10 weeks for the dead growth to weather off. The treatment kills it all on day one — the visual change is gradual.
Will it damage my plants?
Not when done properly. Pre-soak + rinse is part of every job. Where landscaping is dense or sensitive, we tarp the runoff zone before treatment.
